WORK SCHEDULE:

SUMMARY:

• Covers specified areas of metal parts to be anodized or spray painted by performing the following duties.
• Checks parts to insure they are clean and absent of any obstructions that would prevent proper bonding of masking.
• Reviews work instructions and blueprints to identify areas requiring masking.
• Selects the proper type of masking needed to adequately protect the required area.
• Applies the masking by taping, brushing, or using a fixture.
• Trims masking to ensure a clean transition between coating and area masked
• Checks parts to ensure all excess masking is removed from areas intrusive to the coating.
• Removes masking after processing by hand or by using designated cleaning solvent.
• Inspects parts after removal of masking to ensure no coating intruded into the masked area.
• Removes spent cleaning solvent from masking removal tanks and transfers it into the collection drum for spent sol vents.
• Insures that spent solvent drum is labeled and closed after transferring solvents.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
